Transfer your files from one device to another, without the cloud
The universal AirDrop, in your browser. PairDrop sends photos, documents, and messages peer-to-peer between PCs, Macs, mobile devices, and tablets — no app, no account, and hosted by DINAO in France.
What is PairDrop?
PairDrop is an open-source local file sharing application in the browser, inspired by AirDrop and forked from Snapdrop. It allows you to send images, documents, and text peer-to-peer between all devices on the same local network, without installation or registration.
Beyond the local network, PairDrop offers temporary public rooms joined via a 5-letter code or QR code to exchange files over the Internet, as well as a persistent pairing mechanism: once paired via a shared secret, your devices find each other automatically, even after reboot and regardless of the network.
Devices located outside the local network and behind a NAT are connected automatically via a TURN server. PairDrop works on any device with a modern web browser, making it a cross-platform, zero-configuration, and account-free transfer tool.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Do my files go through your servers?
No. Files travel peer-to-peer (encrypted WebRTC) directly between devices. The server only serves to establish the connection; it does not store or read your files.
Do I need to install an application?
No. PairDrop works entirely in the browser. Simply open the same address on two devices for them to discover each other.
Can I share between different networks?
Yes. Via persistent pairing or public rooms (5-letter code / QR code), and thanks to a dedicated TURN server to traverse NATs.
Where is the instance hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. You have a dedicated instance.
Can I change my plan?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time, without proprietary lock-in.
