Lyrion Music Server (LMS), formerly known as Logitech Media Server (and before that SlimServer, SqueezeCenter, Squeezebox Server), is an open-source audio streaming server with remarkable longevity. It indexes your music library and streams it to a wide variety of players: Squeezebox hardware, squeezelite software players, and mobile apps, with true multi-room synchronization.

LMS supports all common formats — FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA — including high-resolution audio, with on-the-fly transcoding tailored to each player. Its mature plugin ecosystem adds radios, online services, podcasts, cover art retrieval, and metadata, while the Material Skin plugin turns it into an excellent web player, even without Squeezebox hardware.

Lightweight (about 150 MB of RAM at idle) and highly stable, it is suitable for both personal collections and large high-resolution libraries. Self-hosted with DINAO, it becomes your private music streaming service: your library stays in France, with no ads or tracking.
