What is Kimai?
Kimai is an open-source time tracking application designed for freelancers, teams, and businesses. It allows you to record time spent with a single click — via a stopwatch — or through manual entry, organized according to a clear hierarchy: client, project, activity, and task.
Kimai generates detailed reports and exports (PDF, CSV, Excel), manages hourly rates, and facilitates billing based on time spent. Designed for collaborative work, it supports teams, roles, permissions, and timesheet approval, and is enhanced by a REST API and numerous plugins (SSO/LDAP, integrations…).
Self-hosted, Kimai gives you full control over your time data and your collaborators: everything remains on your instance, without per-user subscriptions or dependency on a foreign third-party service.
