What is Snac2?
Snac2 is a simple and minimalist ActivityPub instance, written in portable C. Designed to consume minimal resources, it runs without server-side JavaScript and without a heavy database, making it an ideal choice for frugal hosting, from Raspberry Pi to small VPS.
Despite its lightweight nature, Snac2 supports essential federated social network features: posting messages, following accounts, replies, shares, mentions, attachments, and discussion threads. Compatible with Mastodon, Pleroma, Misskey, and the rest of the Fediverse, it allows you to interact with millions of users from your own instance.
Its clean web interface prioritizes readability and speed. Snac2 manages multiple accounts per instance, WebFinger for discovery, RSS feeds, and a lightweight moderation system — all within a compact binary that is easy to maintain.
