What is Misskey?
Misskey is an open-source decentralized social network platform built on the ActivityPub protocol. Your instance can thus communicate with the entire fediverse — with Mastodon at the forefront — while remaining entirely under your control. The feed remains chronological, without advertising algorithms or attention capture.
Misskey stands out for its rich functionality and customization: custom emoji reactions, MFM (advanced note formatting), integrated file Drive, filtered timelines (antennas), pages, widgets, themes, and brand colors. It is one of the most expressive and configurable fediverse software solutions.
Technically, Misskey relies on Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis, with a queue for federation. DINAO handles the installation, supervision of these components, and updates, so you can focus on your community.
Host Misskey at DINAO
No managed container for Misskey: this application is installed on a VPS hosted in France (1 vCPU / 2 Go / 10 Go minimum).
Application available on a VPS
This application requires privileged access to the host machine, which is incompatible with managed shared hosting. It is installed on a VPS (virtual private server) that you administer: DINAO delivers it with Docker and the management panel of your choice, and you install and maintain Misskey yourself. The VPS is not managed by DINAO unless you add the managed-services option when ordering.

Who handles moderation?
DINAO ensures technical operation and provides moderation tools. Content moderation policy remains under your control as the instance administrator.
