What is Peppermint?

Peppermint is an open source incident and helpdesk management solution, positioned as an alternative to Zendesk and Jira. Self-hosted, it helps support and service desk teams manage both internal requests and customer inquiries.

It offers email-based ticketing — users write to a support address and tickets are created and tracked automatically — as well as a clear and responsive interface to manage tickets, agents, and users. SSO via OIDC integration allows you to rely on your identity provider.

Peppermint also includes webhooks to automate processes, for example triggering alerts or scripts when a new ticket is created. Lightweight and easy to deploy via Docker, it is perfectly suited for SMEs and homelabs seeking a sovereign helpdesk service without per-agent subscriptions.
