What is VERT?
VERT is a next-generation web file converter designed primarily for privacy. Almost all conversions — images, audio, and documents — run locally in the browser thanks to WebAssembly: your files are never uploaded to a remote server, unlike typical free converters.
The tool supports over 250 formats with no imposed file size limits, within a sleek Svelte interface, free of ads or trackers. Only video conversion, which is more resource-intensive, relies on a dedicated daemon that DINAO hosts on your own instance.
Licensed under AGPL-3.0, VERT is fully self-hostable via Docker. DINAO handles deployment, HTTPS, the video daemon, and updates, providing you with a fast, unlimited, and data-respectful team converter.

Are my files sent to a server?
For images, audio, and documents, conversion happens directly in your browser (WebAssembly): files are not uploaded. Only video conversion goes through a daemon, hosted on your own instance in France.
What formats are supported?
VERT supports over 250 image, audio, and document formats. The list is regularly updated, and updates are managed by DINAO.
Is there a file size limit?
Unlike free online converters, VERT imposes no arbitrary limits. The only factor is the power of the plan chosen for video conversion.
Do I need technical skills?
No. The interface is ready to use. DINAO handles installation, the video daemon, security, and updates.
Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. VERT does not store your files: there is no proprietary lock-in.
