What is SnappyMail?
SnappyMail is a simple, modern, and fast webmail client, written in PHP and JavaScript. A modernized fork of RainLoop, it stands out for its lightweight nature: it requires no database and does not store your emails itself. It connects directly to your IMAP (reception) and SMTP (sending) servers, whether they are Dovecot, Postfix, Exchange, or MDaemon.
The responsive interface allows you to compose, read, reply to, and organize your messages into folders from any browser. On the security side, SnappyMail integrates end-to-end OpenPGP encryption, 2FA two-factor authentication, and multi-account management. Its installation and updates are particularly simple, making it an excellent choice for sovereign webmail self-hosting.

You might be wondering…
Does SnappyMail store my emails?
No. SnappyMail is only an interface: your emails remain on your IMAP server. The webmail connects to them to display them, but does not store your mail itself.
Can I use it with my current email provider?
Yes, as long as your provider exposes an IMAP/SMTP access. SnappyMail connects to your existing server (Dovecot, Exchange, MDaemon…) without migrating your mailboxes.
Are my messages analyzed for advertising purposes?
Never. Unlike mainstream webmails, no reading or profiling of your emails is performed. Your data remains private and hosted in France.
Is PGP encryption available?
Yes. SnappyMail integrates OpenPGP to encrypt and sign your messages end-to-end, in addition to 2FA two-factor authentication.
Do I need technical skills?
No. DINAO installs, secures, and updates the instance. You just need to log in from your browser, on your own domain via HTTPS.
