What is SilverBullet?
SilverBullet is an open-source, self-hosted personal programmable notepad. At first glance, it's a fast and pleasant Markdown editor; in reality, it's a knowledge management tool that indexes, links, and makes your notes queryable. Your content is no longer just static files: it becomes a dynamic and actionable knowledge base.
Its strength lies in its programmability: you can directly integrate queries (to aggregate and filter your notes), templates, and small scripts into your pages to automate and enhance the display. An extension system allows for further customization. Links between notes, backlinks, attachments, and quick navigation complete the experience.
SilverBullet works as a progressive web application (PWA), with offline mode and synchronization. Most importantly, your notes remain simple readable and exportable Markdown files — no proprietary lock-in. Hosted by DINAO in France, it's a sovereign second brain, with you retaining full control.
