Shynet is a modern, open-source web analytics solution that is privacy-friendly. Its unique feature: it works without cookies and without persistent identifiers, making it a credible and sovereign alternative to Google Analytics — and in many cases, it avoids displaying an intrusive consent banner on your site.

Despite its privacy-first approach, Shynet provides all the essential metrics: page views, sessions, load times, bounce rate, referrers, location, and device types. Its tracking script is lightweight and automatically falls back to a transparent pixel when JavaScript is disabled. Built on Django, it is customizable and supports tracking multiple sites and users.

Regarding architecture, Shynet can run in a single container for modest-sized sites, or scale out with parallelized ingestion nodes, a Redis cache, and dedicated workers for high-traffic sites. Hosted by DINAO in France, it gives you full ownership of your audience statistics.
