What is Maybe?
Maybe is an open source personal finance application, a true « OS » for managing your money, built with Ruby on Rails. It brings together in one place the tracking of your net worth, accounts, investments and transactions, with a clear overview of your financial situation.
Beyond tracking, Maybe allows you to manage budgets, categorize your expenses, analyze trends and aggregate your accounts — all running on your own server, with your data never leaving your network. Optional AI features can help you analyze your finances.
Originally a funded fintech startup, Maybe was released as open source under the AGPLv3 license and has become one of the most popular self-hosted personal finance tools on GitHub. Hosted by DINAO in France, it offers a sovereign and private alternative to online financial management applications.

Yes. Your accounts, transactions and asset data remain on your DINAO instance hosted in France, in an isolated container. Your financial information never leaves your network and is not transmitted to any third party.
What can I track with Maybe?

Do AI features send my data elsewhere?
AI features are optional. When enabled, you choose the model used on your instance; nothing forces you to entrust your banking data to an external service.
Can I manage household finances with multiple people?
Yes, depending on the plan chosen: higher tiers allow multiple user accounts, making it practical for shared management within a household.
Can I export my financial data?
Yes. Your data remains yours and is exportable — no proprietary lock-in. You can also import your transactions and change tiers at any time.
