What is Lightdash?
Lightdash is an open source Business Intelligence platform that instantly transforms your dbt project into a comprehensive analytics tool. Designed for data teams already working with dbt — or those who want analytics to follow software development best practices — it places your metrics at the heart of your code, versioned and consistent.
Analysts define metrics in dbt; Lightdash then opens self-service to the entire company. Users build interactive dashboards (charts, tables, visualizations), filter and explore data to uncover trends, all without writing SQL.
On the technical side, Lightdash offers an engineer workflow: CLI tools, version control compatibility, pre-production environments, SQL Runner, report scheduling, and SSO. Available for self-hosting, the community edition is fully featured: exploration, dashboards, sharing, and scheduling.

Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Since your metrics live in your versioned dbt project, there is no proprietary lock-in.
