Your community, federated and ad-free
Launch a federated discussion forum, an alternative to Reddit, thanks to Lemmy installed and maintained by DINAO. Your communities and their exchanges remain on our French servers — no ads or tracking.
What is Lemmy?
Lemmy is a link aggregator and community discussion platform, presented as a free alternative to Reddit. Users create thematic communities, publish links, posts, and images, then vote and comment in nested threads — the familiar experience of modern forums, without ads or tracking.
Its key feature is being federated via the ActivityPub protocol: your instance can communicate with the rest of the Fediverse (other Lemmy servers, Mastodon…) to open your communities to the outside world, or remain entirely private if you prefer internal use. You retain full control over moderation and rules.
Technically, Lemmy relies on a high-performance backend in Rust, a PostgreSQL database, and the pict-rs service for images. Self-hosted with DINAO, it offers your organization a sovereign discussion space, without opaque algorithms or data resale, hosted in France.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Is Lemmy an alternative to Reddit?
Yes. Lemmy adopts the principle of thematic communities with discussion threads, votes, and nested comments, but with free software, self-hosted, no ads or tracking.
What does federation offer?
Thanks to the ActivityPub protocol, your instance can interact with the rest of the Fediverse (other Lemmy, Mastodon). You can also remain completely private by disabling federation.
Who moderates the community?
You. You appoint administrators and moderators, set your rules, and have moderation tools (reports, bans, moderation queue).
Where are the data hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Accounts and content do not leave the territory.
Can I retrieve my data?
Yes. You maintain control over your database and media, which are exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
