What is Gramps Web?
Gramps Web is a modern, free, and open-source web application for browsing and collaboratively editing genealogical databases. Fully interoperable with Gramps Desktop, it brings your family history to the web, making it accessible and shareable from any device.
Gramps Web offers interactive tree charts (ancestors, descendants, fan chart, hourglass), powerful mapping tools to visualize locations on maps — with timeline and historical layers — as well as photo management with face detection. It imports GEDCOM and Gramps XML formats, generates most reports in PDF, and provides advanced search and even a chromosome browser for DNA data.
Designed for family collaboration, with role management and privacy controls for living individuals, Gramps Web handles sensitive personal data : self-hosting with DINAO ensures they remain private, sovereign, and within French territory.
