What is Geneac?
Geneac is a self-hosted genealogy web application that allows you to build and document your family tree on your own server. You enter the individuals, families, and events that make up your history, and navigate the relationships between generations.
The main advantage of Geneac is privacy: genealogy handles sensitive personal data, including that of living people. By self-hosting your tree, you avoid entrusting this information to a commercial site that could cross-reference or exploit it. Your data remains strictly your own.
Distributed as a Docker container, Geneac is easy to install and maintain in a managed infrastructure. You can grant access to your loved ones to build the tree together, while retaining full control over your family archives.
