What is Checkmate?
Checkmate is an open source, self-hosted infrastructure monitoring tool designed to track server hardware, availability (uptime), response times, and incidents in real time, all with beautiful visualizations.
It regularly checks whether a server or site is accessible and performing well, then provides real-time alerts and reports on availability, outages, and response times. Checkmate offers several probe types — Uptime, Docker, Ping, SSL, Port, game server — and an optional agent called Capture, which reports detailed information on the CPU, RAM, disk, and temperature of your remote servers.
In terms of performance, Checkmate has been stress-tested with over 1,000 active monitors without bottlenecks, and runs with an exceptionally low memory and CPU footprint thanks to numerous optimizations. It is a seamless and accessible alternative to proprietary monitoring solutions.
