What is Artalk?
Artalk is a self-hosted commenting system, both intuitive and feature-rich, ready to be integrated into any blog, website, or application. It puts you back in control of your comment data : everything remains under your control, without trackers or third-party collection.
Its architecture is deliberately lightweight and performant : the client weighs approximately 40 KB, is written in Vanilla JavaScript, and remains independent of any framework, while the server, developed in Go, offers cross-platform performance with simple deployment via Docker.
Regarding features, Artalk offers multi-site management, social login, email notifications, and comprehensive moderation tools, as well as Markdown support, emoji packs, image uploads, and voting — everything needed to engage a community while keeping control of your data.
