Cos'è MeTube ?
MeTube is a self-hosted web interface for yt-dlp, which allows downloading media from YouTube and dozens of other platforms directly via a browser — an accessible alternative to command-line downloading.
It handles multi-format downloads (videos, audio, subtitles, thumbnails), batch operations (playlists and channels with configurable settings), subscription management (automatic periodic checks for new content), customizable file naming (output templates), support for over 100 sites, integration via Chrome and Firefox extensions, iOS shortcuts and bookmarklets, as well as configuration presets and per-download overrides.
Built in Python (around the yt-dlp library) with a TypeScript / Angular frontend, MeTube exposes a REST API and a WebSocket channel (real-time status). It deploys in Docker. It does not include authentication: access is protected at the reverse proxy level. AGPL-3.0 license.

MeTube relies on yt-dlp and supports YouTube as well as over 100 other video hosting platforms.
Are my downloads private?
Yes. Downloads take place on your DINAO instance in France and the files remain there — no third-party service between you and the video.
Can you download entire playlists?
Yes. MeTube handles batch operations (playlists, channels) and offers subscription management that automatically checks for new content.
How is access secured?
MeTube does not include its own authentication: DINAO protects access at the reverse proxy level (HTTPS, authentication, optional IP restriction).
Can you change plans or retrieve your files?
Yes. Your downloaded files belong to you and remain accessible; you can move up or down tiers at any time.
