What is Winter CMS?
Winter CMS is an open source content management system built on the Laravel PHP framework. Born as a community fork and fully free of OctoberCMS, it retains its elegant philosophy while ensuring open governance and active development under the MIT license. It caters to both agencies and developers as well as businesses seeking a solid and durable website.
Its modern and clean back office allows you to manage pages, content, and media with ease, while Twig themes offer a clear and maintainable template engine. A rich ecosystem of plugins, largely compatible with that of OctoberCMS, allows you to add features — forms, blog, e-commerce, multilingual — without starting from scratch.
Based on a PHP 8 and MySQL stack, Winter CMS benefits from the full robustness of the Laravel ecosystem: security, performance, and extensibility. Self-hosted at DINAO, it gives you full control over your website and data, away from closed proprietary platforms, with HTTPS, backups, and monitoring included.

Do I need to know how to code to manage my site?
No for day-to-day management: the modern back office allows you to edit pages, content, and media without touching the code. To customize themes (Twig) or develop plugins, Laravel/PHP skills are a plus.
Can I reuse my existing themes or plugins?
Yes. Winter CMS uses Twig themes and a plugin system largely compatible with the OctoberCMS ecosystem. You can import your themes, create new ones, or draw from available plugins.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your content, media, and database do not leave the territory.
