What is WebThings Gateway?
WebThings Gateway is an open smart home gateway, originating from the Mozilla IoT project and now maintained by the WebThings.io community. It offers a unified web interface to monitor and control all your connected devices, regardless of manufacturer, without going through proprietary clouds.
Its drag-and-drop rule engine allows you to create visual and deterministic "if… then…" automations. An interactive floor plan and sensor data logging complete the experience. An add-ons system extends hardware compatibility (Zigbee, Z-Wave, HomeKit…), all built on the W3C Web of Things standard to ensure interoperability.
Built on Node.js and designed for a low footprint, the gateway is ideal for taking back control of your connected home. Hosted in France by DINAO, it keeps your sensor data within the country and under your control.

Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your sensor data never leaves the country.
Do I need technical skills?
The interface and drag-and-drop rule engine are accessible. DINAO handles installation, security and updates; you focus on your scenarios.
Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your data remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
