Your hiking journal, hosted in France
An open source trail management application powered by Wanderer, installed and maintained by DINAO. Import your GPX tracks, view them on a map — your routes stay on our French servers.
What is Wanderer?
Wanderer is an open source and self-hosted application dedicated to managing your hikes and trails. It serves as a true personal or collective route database: you import your tracks in GPX format, and each outing is displayed on an interactive map with its path, altitude profile, and key statistics.
Beyond simple visualization, Wanderer helps you organize your outdoor activities. You categorize your routes by tags, group them into thematic lists — by mountain range, difficulty level, or weekend project — and track your performance evolution over the seasons. It is a complete digital hiking journal, with no ads or data resale.
Self-hosted by DINAO, your Wanderer instance keeps all your routes and the geolocation of your outings in France. An ideal alternative to mainstream platforms for hikers, clubs, and associations concerned about the privacy of their movements.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Can I import my existing tracks?
Yes. Wanderer accepts GPX file imports, the standard format for hiking watches and apps. Your routes are then displayed on a map with their altitude profile and statistics.
How is this better than a mainstream app?
With self-hosted Wanderer, your routes and the geolocation of your outings stay on your instance in France. They are neither resold nor exploited for commercial purposes, unlike free platforms.
Can multiple people use it?
Yes. Wanderer supports multiple accounts, making it a great tool for a hiking club or association wanting to share its trails internally.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your tracks and photos never leave the territory.
Can I change my plan or export my routes?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your tracks remain exportable in GPX format — no proprietary lock-in.
