What is useSend?
useSend is an open-source email sending platform for transactional and marketing messages, positioned as an alternative to Resend, SendGrid, or Postmark. It wraps email sending in a user-friendly dashboard, API, analytics, contact management, and subscription/unsubscription handling.
It allows you to track your sends, deliverability, and contact engagement in real time, all from a clear interface. On the integration side, its API connects easily to your applications, like a standard transactional service — useSend must be connected to an external sending provider (Amazon SES, Postmark, a third-party SMTP relay…), as outbound SMTP is blocked by design on DINAO's shared hosting.
In the self-hosted version at DINAO, useSend runs on your own infrastructure in France: your contacts, templates, and statistics remain sovereign and GDPR compliant, without dependence on a non-EU SaaS service. You retain control over your email channel, with controlled hosting costs.

Outbound email requires an external service
Outbound SMTP is blocked by design on DINAO's shared hosting (anti-spam protection for all our customers). For the email-sending features of useSend (notifications, campaigns…), you will need to subscribe to an email routing service outside the DINAO infrastructure (e.g. Mautic hosted elsewhere, SendGrid, Brevo, a third-party SMTP relay…).

Via its sending API, just like with a standard transactional service. useSend does not send directly over outbound SMTP from DINAO (blocked by design): it must be connected to an external sending provider (Amazon SES, Postmark, a third-party SMTP relay…), which handles domain authentication (DKIM, SPF) and deliverability.
Does it handle marketing and unsubscribes?
Yes. useSend handles both transactional emails and marketing campaigns, with contact and unsubscribe management, which is useful for GDPR compliance.
Do I need technical skills?
Integration via the API requires developers. DINAO handles installation, security, and platform updates; configuring the external sending provider (SES, Postmark…) and domain authentication remain your responsibility.
