Your media library, automatically optimized, in France
A media library optimizer that transcodes and normalizes your videos powered by Unmanic, installed and maintained by DINAO. Your files stay on our French servers — hosted in France.
What is Unmanic?
Unmanic is an self-hosted media library optimization application: its role is to automatically convert and normalize video and audio files from a library so that they all adhere to the same format. Open source (GPL v3), it relies on FFmpeg for transcoding.
Its operation is based on a scheduler that scans the entire library for files that do not match your presets, and on real-time monitoring that checks every new or modified file. Non-compliant videos are then queued for conversion.
Unmanic's great flexibility comes from its plugin system: you can convert your files to a uniform format, manage file moves based on their date, or execute custom commands based on size. A web interface allows you to configure, control, and track progress, all easily deployable via Docker (with VA-API / NVENC hardware acceleration possible).

Technical details
You might be wondering…
What is Unmanic used for?
To automatically optimize your video library: it detects files that do not match your presets and transcodes them via FFmpeg to harmonize formats and save disk space.
How does detection work?
Unmanic scans the library on a schedule and also monitors new files: any file that does not match your presets is queued for conversion.
Can I customize the processing?
Yes, thanks to the plugin system: compression, file moves, execution of custom commands based on size… You define your own rules.
Can transcoding be accelerated?
Yes. GPU acceleration (VA-API / NVENC) is available as an option on higher tiers to transcode much faster.
Can I change my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your media library and configuration remain exportable.
