What is Trip?

Trip is a minimalist point-of-interest tracker and a self-hosted travel planner. It allows you to visualize your points of interest (POI) on a map and organize the details of your next adventure, in an intentionally clean and distraction-free interface.

In practice, you pin your favorite places — restaurants, sites to visit, useful addresses — on your own map, categorize them by categories and tags, and then group them into travel projects to prepare your getaways. Everything remains centralized in one place, under your control.

An alternative to commercial maps that exploit your movements for advertising purposes, Trip is easily deployed via Docker (a docker-compose.yml is provided) and keeps your locations and routes private. Hosted by DINAO in France, it offers a lightweight, sovereign personal geographic memory.
