FAQ

You might be wondering…

Is it really compatible with PostgreSQL?

Yes. TimescaleDB is a PostgreSQL extension, not a separate database. You keep standard SQL, your existing drivers and tools—you simply gain time-series performance and compression.

What data volume can I store?

From a few metrics to several billion points. Sizing (RAM, NVMe IOPS, storage) is selected with DINAO based on your ingestion rate; Hypercore compression significantly reduces the required space.

Where are the data hosted?

On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your time-series data never leaves the territory.

Do I need technical skills?

DINAO handles installation, Postgres tuning, backups, and updates. You interact with the database as you would with a standard PostgreSQL; a technical team designs the schema and queries.

Can I migrate or export my data?

Yes. Like any PostgreSQL, your data can be exported (pg_dump, COPY) and migrated without proprietary lock-in. You remain in control of your data.
