Your AI accountant, hosted in France
Photograph a receipt, and TaxHacker automatically extracts the amount, date, merchant and VAT, storing everything in a structured database. Installed and maintained by DINAO in France.
What is TaxHacker?
TaxHacker is a self-hosted AI-powered accounting application, designed for freelancers, indie-hackers and small businesses who want to save time by automating expense and revenue tracking. It recognizes and automatically extracts key information from receipt photos, invoices or PDFs — product names, amounts, line items, dates, merchants, taxes — and records them in a spreadsheet-style structured database. It handles store receipts, restaurant notes, invoices, bank statements, letters and even handwritten receipts.
You can create custom fields with your own AI prompts to extract any specific information. TaxHacker detects currencies and converts them using historical rates (170+ currencies, including several cryptocurrencies), offers advanced filtering (dates, categories, projects, amounts, custom fields) and CSV exports with attached documents, as well as accountant-ready reports. Deployed in Docker for 100% data residency, it works with any OpenAI-compatible API, including local models via Ollama, LM Studio or vLLM.

This application uses AI
The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.
Technical details
You might be wondering…
What can TaxHacker extract?
From a photo or PDF, it automatically extracts product names, amounts, line items, dates, merchants and taxes, and stores them in a spreadsheet-style structured database. It handles store receipts, restaurant notes, invoices, bank statements and even handwritten receipts.
Do my accounting documents go to an AI provider?
In local mode (model hosted on your instance), no: everything stays in France. If you connect an external AI API, documents pass through that provider — prefer local mode to remain sovereign. See the box below.
Can I customize the extraction?
Yes. You create custom fields with your own AI prompts to extract exactly the information you need, in addition to standard fields.
Does it handle multiple currencies?
Yes. TaxHacker automatically detects currencies and converts them using historical exchange rates, supporting over 170 currencies and several cryptocurrencies.
How do I retrieve my data for my accountant?
Via flexible CSV exports including attached documents, and accountant-ready reports. Your data remains exportable, with no proprietary lock-in.
