Your Plex evenings, perfectly synchronized
Start a movie or series on Plex and watch it at the same time as your friends, remotely: SyncLounge aligns everyone's playback to the millisecond. Installed and maintained by DINAO in France.
What is SyncLounge?
SyncLounge (formerly Plex Together) is a self-hosted "watch party" coordinator for Plex Media Server. It synchronizes playback between multiple Plex clients in real time: when one viewer pauses, everyone pauses; when one advances, the others follow. Play, pause, seek, and volume are aligned to the millisecond so the entire room stays in sync.
SyncLounge relies on an intermediate server that facilitates communication between clients. Each viewer streams from their own Plex server: the host doesn't need to share their library or worry about bandwidth — SyncLounge simply aligns playback clocks and provides a group chat. Participants connect via their Plex account, and an optional whitelist allows restricting access to a circle of close friends. Automatic next-episode playback and re-entry into recent rooms complete the experience.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
How does synchronization work?
SyncLounge acts as an intermediate server that aligns the playback clock of each participant. When one pauses or advances, everyone follows instantly — each person streams from their own Plex.
Do I need to share my Plex library?
No. Each viewer connects with their own Plex account and streams from their own server. The host doesn't need to share their library or bear the bandwidth load for everyone.
Can I limit access to my friends?
Yes. An optional whitelist allows restricting your instance to specific Plex users, your family, or your friends.
Is there a chat during playback?
Yes, each room includes a side chat to react and discuss without leaving the player. You can also hide your Plex username.
Where is the server hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in a dedicated and isolated container, accessible via HTTPS on your domain and GDPR compliant.
