What is Swing Music?
Swing Music is a self-hosted music streaming server, described as "a cooler Spotify, but with your own music." It indexes your local audio library and offers personalized daily mixes based on your listening habits, artist and album recommendations, metadata normalization, album versioning, silence detection, and cross-fade.
Designed for music lovers, it provides listening statistics, Last.fm scrobbling, and multi-user support, all within a particularly refined interface. Recommendations rely on metadata and listening history-based algorithms — not on an external AI service, preserving the privacy of your tastes.
Technically, Swing Music combines a Python backend with a Vue.js frontend, featuring built-in local/SQLite storage (no heavy external database), and listens on port 1970 by default. Hosted by DINAO in France, it is the private and sovereign alternative to commercial streaming platforms.
