What is Stirling-PDF?
Stirling-PDF is a powerful, self-hostable open-source PDF editing platform that combines over 50 PDF tools into a single web application. It can be deployed on your own servers, used in the browser, or as a desktop application, without sending your documents to external services.
The tool covers all common operations: editing, merging, splitting, signing, redaction, conversion, OCR, and compression of PDF files. It also offers no-code automation pipelines directly within the interface, as well as a REST API available for most tools, to integrate PDF processing into your own systems. The interface is translated into more than 40 languages.
Regarding privacy, files exist either exclusively on the client side or only in server memory during processing, and any temporary file is deleted from the server after the operation. Stirling-PDF is designed for organizations that want a complete and sovereign PDF toolkit without relying on third-party online document manipulation services.

Free sites upload your documents to third-party servers, often outside the EU, which may retain them. With Stirling-PDF managed by DINAO, your PDFs are processed on your instance in France and deleted after use.
