What is Spree?

Spree Commerce is an open source e-commerce platform, modular and headless, built on Ruby on Rails. It provides all the building blocks for a professional online store: catalog with variants, stock management, promotions, taxes, cart, checkout, refunds and a complete admin back-office.

Its API-first architecture (REST and GraphQL) separates the commerce engine from the presentation layer: you can connect any front-end — website, mobile app, PWA — or integrate your business tools (ERP, CRM) via webhooks. Payment and shipping gateways can be integrated according to your needs.

Extensible and proven, Spree is used by merchants worldwide. Hosted and maintained by DINAO in France, it becomes a sovereign e-commerce solution, with no sales commissions and no dependency on a closed SaaS platform.

Yes. Spree handles thousands of products and variants, with a PostgreSQL database and Redis cache sized according to your plan.

What is a headless architecture?

The e-commerce engine exposes an API (REST/GraphQL). This allows you to use any front-end — website, mobile app, PWA — while keeping business logic on the server side.

Is there a commission on my sales?

No. Unlike SaaS platforms, self-hosted Spree does not take any percentage. You pay for hosting, not for your sales.

Is my customer data in France?

Yes. Orders, customers and payment data are hosted on your dedicated instance in France, encrypted and backed up.

Can I connect my ERP or CRM?

Yes, via the API and webhooks. DINAO can support you with business integrations.
