What is Spliit?
Spliit is a free expense sharing application, a self-hosted alternative to Splitwise. It allows you to create groups — trips, flatsharing, outings, projects — record expenses, and instantly know who owes how much to whom, with no advertising or data resale.
Each group is shared via a simple link: participants add their expenses without needing to create an account. Spliit handles equal splits, per-share, or percentage-based splits, calculates balances in real time, and suggests optimal reimbursements to settle a group with the minimum number of transactions. Receipts, categories, and full history are included.
Built with modern web technologies (Next.js, PostgreSQL) and deployable via Docker, Spliit is a lightweight service ideal for managed operation, with database, backups, and updates supported.

Where are the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your expenses and participants never leave the territory.
Can I export my data?
Yes. You can export your group expenses at any time — no proprietary lock-in. You can change providers freely.
