What is SiYuan?

SiYuan is a privacy-first knowledge management and note-taking system, built around a block-based Markdown editor. Presented as a self-hostable alternative to Notion, it combines structured documents, bidirectional links, block references, graph view, databases, tables, code, and mathematical formulas to build a true "second brain".

Content is based on portable Markdown stored locally, avoiding vendor lock-in and facilitating export (Markdown, PDF, HTML). SiYuan is available as a web interface, desktop and mobile apps, with encrypted synchronization to your instance.

DINAO hosts it in France in an isolated container, with encryption, backups, updates, and monitoring — ensuring a sovereign knowledge base where your often-sensitive notes never leave French territory.
