What is Shelfmark?
Shelfmark is a self-hosted web application that centralizes the search and retrieval of ebooks and audiobooks. You provide your own sources, metadata providers, and download clients; Shelfmark brings them together in a single modern interface, featuring multi-source search (web, torrent, Usenet, IRC) and real-time queue tracking.
Instead of managing your library, Shelfmark delivers files directly to your reading tools: Calibre-Web, Calibre-Web-Automated, BookLore, or Audiobookshelf. Its multi-user system with requests allows you to share your instance while maintaining control through validation and admin/user roles.
Managed by DINAO, your Shelfmark is hosted in France, GDPR compliant, and fully sovereign: none of your searches or requests leave our servers. We handle Docker deployment, updates, and monitoring so you can focus on reading.

What exactly is Shelfmark?
Shelfmark (formerly Calibre Web Automated Book Downloader) is a self-hosted application that provides a single web interface to search, request, and retrieve ebooks and audiobooks from multiple sources. It aggregates your sources and metadata providers, then delivers the files to your reading applications (Calibre-Web, BookLore, Audiobookshelf) for organization and reading.
Does Shelfmark manage my library itself?
No, and that is intentional. Shelfmark focuses on discovery and retrieval: it does not track or manage your catalog. Management, classification, and reading are delegated to your dedicated tools like Calibre-Web or Audiobookshelf, with which it integrates natively.
Do my data and searches remain private?
Yes. Your instance is hosted on our French servers, GDPR compliant: your sources, requests, and history are never transmitted to third parties. Optional Tor routing is available for deployments particularly sensitive to privacy.
Can I share my instance with other readers?
Yes. Shelfmark is multi-user with admin/user role management. Non-admin accounts can submit book requests subject to validation. Authentication supports password, auth proxy, OIDC SSO, or reuse of your existing Calibre-Web database.
How does DINAO install and maintain my Shelfmark?
We deploy the official Docker container (full image or Lite depending on your plan) preconfigured, with HTTPS and your domain included. DINAO handles installation, updates, daily backups, and monitoring: you just need to connect your sources and reading applications.
