What is SENAITE LIMS?
SENAITE LIMS is a professional-grade open source laboratory information management system (Laboratory Information Management System), successor and evolution of the renowned Bika LIMS. It covers the entire analysis lifecycle: sample registration, analysis requests, result entry and validation, and report generation.
Built on the Plone framework (Python/Zope), known for its excellent security track record, SENAITE relies on a strict state machine and role-based access control to guarantee the integrity of electronic records. Its modern interface (React/Backbone, Bootstrap) follows a mobile-first approach, usable on tablets as well as desktops.
Highly customizable and extensible, SENAITE exposes a complete JSON REST API to integrate with your existing instruments and systems. It is designed for clinical, environmental, food, or research laboratories seeking a robust, traceable, and fully controlled LIMS.

Yes. The web interface is designed for laboratory operators. DINAO manages installation, security, and updates; a technical team can use the REST API if needed.
Can I upgrade my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can move up or down tiers at any time, and your data remains exportable — SENAITE is open source, with no proprietary lock-in.
