What is Scrypted?
Scrypted is a high-performance open-source platform for video integration and video surveillance (NVR) for the smart home. Its role: unify cameras from different brands and protocols (RTSP, ONVIF, proprietary manufacturers) and make them compatible with major home ecosystems — Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant — all with low-latency streaming.
Beyond bridging ecosystems, Scrypted includes a true NVR capable of 24/7 recording on your storage, with local smart detections (people, vehicles, objects) that make notifications relevant rather than noisy. It notably supports HomeKit Secure Video and offers mobile and desktop apps.
The key advantage is privacy: unlike cloud cameras from manufacturers, your feeds are processed locally on your own instance, not on third-party servers abroad. Hosted by DINAO in France, Scrypted gives you full control over your video surveillance.

You might be wondering…
Are my cameras compatible?
Scrypted supports a wide range of cameras (RTSP, ONVIF, and many proprietary brands) via its plugins. Provide us with your models, and we will verify compatibility.
Do my video feeds go to the cloud?
No. That's the whole point of Scrypted: your feeds are processed locally on your instance hosted in France, not on the foreign servers of your camera manufacturer.
Can I use HomeKit Secure Video?
Yes. Scrypted allows you to expose your cameras to HomeKit, including HomeKit Secure Video recording, as well as to Google Home and Alexa.
Do I need a GPU?
Not necessarily. Basic detections run on CPU; for a large camera fleet with intensive AI detections, an optional GPU improves performance.
Where are the data hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your recordings never leave the country.
