What is Resilio Sync?
Resilio Sync (formerly BitTorrent Sync) is a peer-to-peer file synchronization tool available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, BSD, and many NAS devices. It allows you to synchronize files between devices on the same local network or remotely via the Internet.
Resilio Sync relies on a modified version of the BitTorrent protocol and AES-256 encryption for exchanged data. Peer-to-peer and cloud-free, it works whether or not an Internet connection is available, has no single point of failure, and proves much faster than a traditional cloud solution. Only encrypted data flows, and your files stay on your own devices.
In the DINAO managed offer, an always-on relay node is hosted in France: it ensures your devices remain synchronized even when they are turned off, and provides an additional copy of your data. With encrypted folders, this node only stores encrypted data that it cannot read. As Resilio Sync is a proprietary solution, DINAO deploys, administers, and maintains it for you, turnkey.

Resilio Sync synchronizes your files directly between your devices, peer-to-peer, without storing them on a central cloud. There is no single point of failure, and speed is not throttled by a third-party service.
What is the purpose of the node hosted by DINAO?
It acts as an always-available peer: your devices remain synchronized even when turned off relative to each other, and you have an additional copy in France. With encrypted folders, the relay only sees encrypted data.
Are my files secure in transit?
Yes. Only AES-256 encrypted data flows between peers. Your files remain on your devices; the DINAO node serves only as a relay, ideally in encrypted folder mode.
Where is the relay node hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your data does not pass through any foreign cloud.
Do I need technical skills?
No. DINAO installs and configures the relay node; you just need to install the Resilio Sync application on your devices and share your folders. Resilio Sync is a proprietary solution, provided turnkey by DINAO.
