What is Readur?
Readur is a modern document management system (DMS) with OCR, written in Rust and TypeScript/React, designed to help individuals and teams organize, process, and efficiently retrieve their digital documents. Its polished interface emphasizes an intuitive user experience.
Its Tesseract OCR engine automatically extracts and indexes text from PDFs, images, and office documents, with automatic language detection. Search relies on PostgreSQL full-text and offers several modes (simple, exact phrase, fuzzy, boolean), allowing you to find any document, even by its OCR'd content. Drag-and-drop facilitates the import of PDFs, images, text files, and Office files.
On the security side, Readur integrates JWT authentication (passwords hashed with bcrypt) as well as OIDC/SSO support. Open source and self-hostable, deployable via Docker, it is the ideal solution for those who want a high-performance DMS while keeping control of their archives.

This application uses AI
The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

What document formats are supported?
Readur handles PDFs, images, and office documents (Office). Its Tesseract OCR engine extracts the text, with automatic language detection, making them searchable.
How does search work?
Search relies on PostgreSQL full-text search with multiple modes: simple, exact phrase, fuzzy, and boolean. You can find any document in seconds, even by its OCR'd content.
Can we connect our directory / SSO?
Yes. Readur offers JWT authentication (passwords hashed with bcrypt) and OIDC/SSO support to integrate with your identity provider.
Where are the data hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your documents and archives never leave the territory.
Do technical skills are required?
No for usage: the interface is modern and intuitive. DINAO handles installation, OCR, database, and updates. A technical team can leverage the API and SSO.
