What is Radicale?
Radicale is a lightweight, open-source CalDAV, CardDAV, and HTTP server dedicated to sharing calendars and contact lists. It manages events, tasks (todos), journal entries, and business cards (vCards), and runs out-of-the-box without complex configuration.
Its philosophy is simplicity: a single dependency, no superuser privileges required, no database. All data is stored in the filesystem within a simple folder structure, with optional Git integration for versioning. It supports multiple authentication methods (htpasswd, LDAP, OAuth2, PAM, IMAP, Dovecot) and flexible rights management and collection sharing.
The server runs on Linux, BSD, macOS, and Windows, relies on Python, and is well-suited for containerized deployment. Its extension-based architecture allows adding custom authentication or storage backends. Radicale is distributed under the GPLv3 license.

Do my calendars and contacts remain private?
Yes. Your appointments, tasks, and address books are stored on your dedicated instance in France. No data is shared or used for other purposes.
Which applications can I connect?
Radicale relies on open CalDAV and CardDAV standards: Thunderbird, Apple Calendar and Contacts, DAVx⁵ on Android, Evolution, and most market clients synchronize directly.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your calendars and contacts never leave the country.
Are technical skills required?
No for usage: you simply add the account to your calendar app. DINAO handles installation, authentication, security, and updates.
Can I change my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Since data is stored in standard files (iCalendar/vCard), it remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
