What is Radicale?
Radicale is a lightweight, open-source CalDAV, CardDAV, and HTTP server dedicated to sharing calendars and contact lists. It manages events, tasks (todos), journal entries, and business cards (vCards), and runs out-of-the-box without complex configuration.
Its philosophy is simplicity: a single dependency, no superuser privileges required, no database. All data is stored in the filesystem within a simple folder structure, with optional Git integration for versioning. It supports multiple authentication methods (htpasswd, LDAP, OAuth2, PAM, IMAP, Dovecot) and flexible rights management and collection sharing.
The server runs on Linux, BSD, macOS, and Windows, relies on Python, and is well-suited for containerized deployment. Its extension-based architecture allows adding custom authentication or storage backends. Radicale is distributed under the GPLv3 license.
Host Radicale at DINAO
No managed container for Radicale: this application is installed on a VPS hosted in France (0,25 vCPU / 128 Mo / 1 Go minimum).
Application available on a VPS
This application requires privileged access to the host machine, which is incompatible with managed shared hosting. It is installed on a VPS (virtual private server) that you administer: DINAO delivers it with Docker and the management panel of your choice, and you install and maintain Radicale yourself. The VPS is not managed by DINAO unless you add the managed-services option when ordering.

Do my calendars and contacts remain private?
Yes. Your appointments, tasks, and address books are stored on your dedicated instance in France. No data is shared or used for other purposes.
Which applications can I connect?
Radicale relies on open CalDAV and CardDAV standards: Thunderbird, Apple Calendar and Contacts, DAVx⁵ on Android, Evolution, and most market clients synchronize directly.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your calendars and contacts never leave the country.
Are technical skills required?
No for usage: you simply add the account to your calendar app. DINAO handles installation, authentication, security, and updates.
Can I change my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Since data is stored in standard files (iCalendar/vCard), it remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
