What is Quickwit?
Quickwit is an open-source search and analytics engine designed for cloud / object storage. It allows querying very large volumes of data at a reduced cost, thanks to an architecture where compute and storage are decoupled. The core is written in Rust on top of the Tantivy library, with vectorized processing and SIMD optimizations for sub-second queries.
Its two main use cases are log management (searching and investigating errors directly on object storage, schemaless indexing) and distributed tracing, with native support for OpenTelemetry and the Jaeger protocol. The architecture is highly available and scales horizontally via stateless indexers and searchers.
On the enterprise side, Quickwit offers multi-tenancy, retention policies, and GDPR-compliant data deletion. It can be deployed both on-premise and in the cloud. The project has joined the Datadog observability ecosystem.

You might be wondering…
Do my logs remain confidential?
Yes. Your logs, traces, and indexes are stored on your dedicated instance in France. No data is transmitted to a third party, and Quickwit allows targeted deletion compliant with GDPR.
Why does Quickwit cost less than Elasticsearch?
Quickwit queries object storage directly and decouples compute from storage. You keep large volumes of logs without massively scaling RAM or duplicating data, which significantly reduces infrastructure costs.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your logs do not leave the territory.
Do I need technical skills?
DINAO manages installation, ingestion, security, and updates. Your teams just need to connect their log sources (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger) and explore the data.
Can I change my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your data remains exportable — no vendor lock-in.
