What is PrivateBin?
PrivateBin is a minimalist and open-source pastebin where the server has no knowledge of the shared data. The content is encrypted and decrypted in the browser using the AES-256 algorithm: this is a so-called "zero-knowledge" operation, with the decryption key carried in the link and never transmitted to the server.
Each paste can be set with an expiration time (from a few minutes to a year), a one-time reading option (self-destruct after viewing), and password protection. PrivateBin supports syntax highlighting for code, a discussion feature with encrypted comments, as well as sending attachments and images, all protected end-to-end.
On the operational side, PrivateBin remains lightweight and flexible: file storage, PostgreSQL/MySQL database or S3-compatible storage, rate limiting against abuse, and simple deployment via Docker. An ideal and privacy-respecting alternative to mainstream text-sharing services.

You might be wondering…
Can DINAO read my pastes?
No. The content is encrypted in your browser before sending, and the decryption key remains in the link (never transmitted to the server). Neither DINAO nor an attacker accessing the server can read your data.
How does self-destruction work?
When creating a paste, you choose a lifespan (from 5 minutes to 1 year) or one-time reading: the message is erased as soon as it has been viewed once.
Can I share files?
Yes. PrivateBin handles attachments and images, encrypted end-to-end just like text. The maximum size depends on your plan.
Where is the data hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your encrypted pastes do not leave the territory.
Do technical skills are required?
No. DINAO installs and maintains the instance; the interface is immediate. A technical team can configure expiration times, quotas, and database storage.
