Overview

What is pgBackWeb?

pgBackWeb adds a user-friendly web interface to your PostgreSQL database backups. Where backup management typically relies on scripts and command-line options, pgBackWeb offers a clear dashboard to configure, schedule, monitor, and restore your backups in just a few clicks.

You schedule recurring backups for each database, visually track the status, duration, and size of each run, and trigger a restore directly from the interface. Backups can be kept locally or sent to an S3-compatible external storage, with configurable retention and failure alerts.

Open-source and self-hostable via Docker, pgBackWeb is perfect for teams that prefer clicking over memorizing commands, without compromising on the reliability of a serious backup strategy.

FAQ

You might be wondering…

Do I need to know the command line?

No. That's the whole point of pgBackWeb: configuring, scheduling, monitoring, and restoring your PostgreSQL backups is done entirely from a user-friendly web interface.

Can my backups go to external storage?

Yes. Beyond local storage, pgBackWeb can send your backups to an S3-compatible external destination, to comply with the multiple copies rule.

How do I restore a database?

From the interface: you select the desired backup from the history and initiate the restore. DINAO can also perform the restore for you upon request.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your backups are hosted in France, encrypted at rest and in transit, on an isolated instance, with a DPA and GDPR compliance.

Am I locked into the tool?

No. pgBackWeb is open-source and relies on standard PostgreSQL backup formats: your dumps remain usable even outside the tool.
