What is Paperclip?
Paperclip is an open-source platform for orchestrating autonomous AI agent enterprises. It organizes your agents into a true company: org chart, hierarchy of objectives, budgets per agent and a complete audit trail of all actions taken.
Designed for self-hosted deployment, the application requires no account with the vendor. It relies on an embedded PostgreSQL instance when no external database is provided: you can therefore start without configuring a database. The project, under the MIT license, provides Dockerfile and composition files for reproducible deployment.
Paperclip is aimed at teams that want to manage multiple AI agents in a structured and traceable way — with cost control and compliance — rather than multiplying isolated and opaque automations.

The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

You might be wondering…
Do my data remain private?
Yes. Paperclip is self-hosted, with no vendor account. Your agents, budgets and audits remain on your DINAO instance, in France. In local model mode, nothing leaves.
Which AI models can I use?
An open-weight model hosted locally on your instance (sovereign), or an external API with your own key. The audit trail tracks usage in both cases.
Where is data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your data does not leave the territory in local mode.
Are technical skills required?
No for setup: DINAO handles installation and the embedded database. You configure your agents from the interface. Your developers can use the API.
Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your data remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in (Paperclip is MIT licensed).
