Your sovereign live platform
A live video streaming server with integrated chat, installed and maintained by DINAO. Your broadcasts and audience stay on our French servers — no YouTube, no Twitch, no forced ads.
What is Owncast?
Owncast is an open source and self-hosted live video streaming server that gives you control over your live stream : broadcasting and chat work right out of the box, without relying on YouTube or Twitch. The backend is written in Go and distributed under the MIT license.
Owncast works with existing broadcast software (such as OBS) via the RTMP protocol and delivers video in HLS. It includes a web chat for viewers with custom emojis and bots, a fully customizable viewing page, and Fediverse integration allowing you to follow and share broadcasts from Mastodon and other services.
Lightweight and self-contained, it is easy to self-host and allows you to reach a wider audience while remaining in control of your infrastructure, interface, and data.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Does Owncast replace Twitch or YouTube Live?
Yes, for self-hosted broadcasting. You stream your RTMP feed (via OBS, for example), which is delivered as HLS on your own page, with integrated chat — without relying on a third-party platform or its ads.
How do my viewers follow my live streams?
Owncast integrates with the Fediverse : your viewers can follow you and share your broadcasts from Mastodon and other services, and receive notifications when you go live.
Do my broadcasts leave France?
No. Your stream, recordings, and audience data remain on your DINAO instance hosted in France, in an isolated container. A CDN option can be added for large-scale broadcasting.
What software can I use to broadcast?
Owncast is compatible with OBS and any broadcast software that emits RTMP. Point your software to your Owncast server and start broadcasting.
Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time based on your audience, and your recordings remain exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
