What is Novu?

Novu is an open source notification infrastructure, designed for developers and product teams. It provides a single API to send notifications across all channels — in-app, email, SMS, push, and chat — without integrating each provider separately.

Beyond sending, Novu offers notification workflows, digests, a GitOps pipeline deployable from your CI, and embeddable components: an in-app notification center (Inbox) with real-time updates, as well as a user preferences component.

Novu integrates with a wide range of providers: email (SendGrid, Mailgun, AWS SES, Postmark, SMTP), SMS (Twilio, Vonage, Plivo, SNS), push (Firebase Cloud Messaging, APNS, Expo), and chat (Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams). Following an open core model (core under MIT license), it deploys as a container and serves as a sovereign notification building block for your applications.
