What is Norish?

Norish is a self-hosted recipe management and meal planning application, designed for families and friend groups who love cooking together. It centralizes a shared recipe catalog, menu organization, and shopping list generation, all within a modern, mobile-friendly interface.

Its strength lies in real-time synchronization: thanks to WebSockets, any change to a recipe, menu, or shopping list is instantly reflected across all connected devices. The application manages permissions per user (edit or read-only) and SSO/OIDC authentication.

Norish can import recipes from a URL, image, or short video (with optional AI assistance), generates nutritional values and allergen alerts, and converts between metric and US units. Hosted by DINAO in France, it keeps your recipes and dietary habits safe from commercial platforms.
