What is NetBox?

NetBox is the reference open-source solution for modeling and documenting a network infrastructure. It brings together two essential disciplines: DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) — racks, equipment, modules, power supplies, and cabling — and IPAM (IP Address Management) — prefixes, IP addresses, VLANs, VRFs, and ASNs.

Beyond inventory, NetBox models circuits, providers, multi-tenant tenancy, and end-to-end physical and logical connections. It thus becomes the unique and reliable source of truth on which infrastructure teams rely to plan, audit, and evolve their networks.

Its richness comes especially from its REST API and GraphQL and webhooks: NetBox feeds network automation (Ansible, scripts, CI/CD pipelines) and extends via a plugin system. Hosted by DINAO in France, it keeps your particularly sensitive infrastructure data under your control.
