What is Mongo Express?
Mongo Express is a web administration interface for MongoDB, written in Node.js and Express. It provides, from a simple browser, a clear view of your databases, collections, and documents — without needing to use the mongosh shell or install a heavy client on each machine.
The tool allows you to create, read, edit, and delete JSON/BSON documents, run queries, manage indexes, and view collection statistics. It is the ideal tool for giving a technical team visual and controlled access to MongoDB.
At DINAO, Mongo Express is deployed behind authentication and HTTPS, with MongoDB never exposed directly to the Internet. The entire setup — database and interface — is hosted on a dedicated instance in France, backed up and maintained by us.

Does Mongo Express replace a heavy client like Compass?
It covers common use cases directly in the browser: browsing collections, editing documents, running queries, and managing indexes, without installing anything on the local machine.
Is access to my databases secure?
Yes. The interface is protected by authentication, served over HTTPS, and MongoDB is never exposed directly to the Internet. IP-based access restriction is available as an option.
Can I manage multiple MongoDB databases?
Yes. Starting from the Team plan, you can manage multiple databases and collections from a single interface.
Where are my databases hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your data never leaves the country.
Does DINAO also manage MongoDB itself?
Yes. DINAO installs and monitors both MongoDB and the Mongo Express interface, handles backups, and performs security updates.
