What is MindsDB?
MindsDB is the open-source AI query engine for federated data: a platform that enables building systems capable of answering questions about large volumes of distributed data. Deployable anywhere — from your workstation to the cloud — MindsDB connects to hundreds of sources (databases, warehouses, SaaS applications) and queries them as if they were a single entity.
Its enriched SQL language exposes virtual tables: views to simplify data access, knowledge bases to index unstructured data, and ML/AI models to apply transformations directly within the query. The federated engine translates each query and executes it on the appropriate source, without moving the data.
MindsDB includes a MCP server (Model Context Protocol) that allows LLM applications and AI agents to connect, unify, and answer questions across all federated data — « the only MCP Server you'll ever need ».

This application uses AI
The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

Do I need to move my data to MindsDB?
No. MindsDB is a federated query engine: it queries your sources where they reside (databases, warehouses, SaaS) and does not require an ETL pipeline or centralized copying.
What does the integrated MCP server offer?
It allows your AI agents and LLM applications to ask questions about all your federated data via a standardized interface (Model Context Protocol), securely on your instance.
Can I use a local AI model?
Yes. You can connect MindsDB to a locally hosted open-weight LLM on your DINAO instance, or to an external API via your own key.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your connectors, queries, and results remain on the territory.
Do I need to be a data engineer to use it?
The interface relies on enriched SQL, accessible to any data team. DINAO handles installation, security, and updates; your teams focus on queries and models.
