What is Microcks?

Microcks is an open source cloud native tool dedicated to API mocking and testing for APIs and microservices. Incubated by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), it transforms your API artifacts — OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, gRPC/Protobuf schemas, GraphQL schemas, Postman collections, SoapUI projects — into living mocks in seconds.

Beyond simulation, Microcks reuses these same artifacts to run compliance and regression tests against your actual implementation. It covers a wide range of patterns and protocols: REST, SOAP, gRPC, GraphQL, WebSockets, as well as asynchronous messaging (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, MQTT, Google PubSub, Amazon SQS/SNS).

Designed for modern integration pipelines, Microcks integrates via a simple CLI into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Tekton, and many others. It enables team decoupling, accelerates parallel front/back development, and ensures API contract reliability throughout the lifecycle.
