What is MeshCentral?
MeshCentral is an open-source, cross-platform, self-hosted web platform for remote equipment management and supervision (RMM). Once the server is installed, an agent is deployed on the machines (Windows, Linux, macOS, FreeBSD) to open remote desktop (KVM), terminal/SSH, and file transfer sessions, and to manage devices on the local network as well as over the Internet.
It supports Intel AMT (out-of-band management), Wake-on-LAN, device grouping, a multi-tenant architecture, and a relay/accelerator service to traverse NATs. On the security side: 2FA, WebAuthn/FIDO, SSO via OAuth2 and SAML (Azure AD, JumpCloud…), LDAP and Duo integration, and automatic TLS via Let's Encrypt.
Technically, MeshCentral is built on Node.js and supports several databases: NeDB embedded by default, or MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MariaDB for scaling. It self-hosts via Docker, opens only a single port for agent↔server communication, and offers multi-channel notifications (Telegram, Discord, email, SMS). Apache 2.0 license.

Which systems can I manage remotely?
MeshCentral manages Windows, Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD agents, with remote desktop (KVM), terminal/SSH, and file transfer, plus Wake-on-LAN and Intel AMT for out-of-band management.
Do my connections go through a third-party cloud?
No. MeshCentral is 100 % self-hosted by DINAO in France. The server and agents remain under your control, with no cloud intermediary.
How are connections secured?
Automatic TLS (Let's Encrypt), 2FA, WebAuthn/FIDO, OAuth2/SAML SSO (Azure AD, JumpCloud), LDAP, and Duo are supported. Only one port is required for the agents.
Can I manage multiple clients on a single instance?
Yes. The multi-tenant architecture allows isolating and managing multiple clients or fleets from a single instance — ideal for MSPs.
Which database to use for scaling?
NeDB embedded by default to get started, or MongoDB / PostgreSQL / MariaDB for larger fleets. DINAO sizes and maintains the database.
